Pepsi's homecoming AR campaign for Starry.

A collab that got the juices flowing.

Starry and its ambassadors, Lem and Lime, are infused with a sweet twist of optimism to resonate with Gen Z. PepsiCo was looking to reach the digital generation on one of their favorite platforms, so they asked us to create a set of TikTok filters for the Starry Swag Sweepstakes. We decided we wanted to experiment with new tools and programs to bring Lem and Lime to life. In the process, we streamlined a multi-team approach to 3D animation and augmented reality.

Our art director brought the duo into virtual reality and turned them three-dimensional. After they were passed off for rigging, they got dance moves from Mixamo. Our technologist workshopped finger tracking so TikTok users could cycle between spinning the cartoon citrus or a basketball (an ode to Starry's NBA partnership). Our developers perfected body occlusion in TikTok's Effect House to create a quirky over-the-shoulder hug.

The filters were released in a sweepstakes video that we wrote and produced, featuring in-house talent showing off the brand's "good vibes" style.
